A new facility in Manitowoc is highlighting our strong ties to the dairy industry.
Monday was preview day, as hundreds gathered to celebrate the completion of the Farm Wisconsin Dairy Center.
The $13 million building was created to be a tourist destination for people of all ages to experience the passion behind Wisconsin farmers.
“They’ll board the bus and tour a neighboring dairy farm to see a live operating farm in action, they’ll get an opportunity to visit the birthing barn, we expect to have 2-5 baby calves born here on site everyday, and that’s miraculous,” said Julie Maurer, Board of Directors.
Organizers say after eight years of planning, it was amazing to see the project come together.
The grand opening for the public will be on the weekend of July 28.
