During a recent committee hearing, Hahn voiced his support for clear, transparent, and understandable labeling for dairy and dairy imitation products. South Dakota Dairy Producer’s Association President Marv Post says he’s encouraged by Hahn’s remarks and hopes FDA follows through with truthful labeling of dairy products.
He says the choice of which product they purchase should be left up to the consumer and that truthful labeling information is provided to them.
Post says labeling of real and imitation products effect all segments of agriculture so having FDA enforce truthful labeling regulations must be ensured.
The Senate committee meets Tuesday to consider Hahn’s nomination. If approved, then the confirmation recommendation would head to the full Senate for a final confirmation vote.

Warrnambool dairy farmer Bernie Free has emerged as the new UDV president, following a torrid year for the dairy body which has seen an exodus of members to join a breakaway representative body.
