In a major blow to the common man, the Sanchi Milk Co-operative Federation has decided to increase the prices of milk with effect from Monday.

The increase in prices is across all brands under Sanchi with the Chah Milk prices going up by Rs 5 per litre to Rs 53.

An official release of Bhopal Dugdh Sangh said on Saturday night that the new rates will be applicable from the morning of March 21. Those customers who have paid in advance for a period of March 16 to April 15 , the price hike would be applicable from April 16. Half-a-litre full cream gold packet will now cost Rs 29 (up from Rs 27). One litre packet of the same variety will cost Rs 57 instead of the existing Rs 53. Likewise, half lit Standard milk (shakti) packet will cost Rs 27, (from Rs 25).

Toned milk (Taza) and Double Toned milk (Smart) varieties will now cost Rs 24 and Rs 22 respectively for half litre packets. The price hike of Sanchi brand milk will be applicable in Indore and other parts of the state.

It was an involvement with the Dairy Industry Awards which spurred Hanna Stalker’s passion for the environment.
Back in 2016, she and her husband Callum won the Otago-Southland Share Farmer of the Year title and were third in the national final while 50% sharemilking at Otautau.
