According to Aavin, a state government enterprise, it”s false that 250 employees at its Madhavaram Dairy had contracted coronavirus. Of the 300 employees at the Madhavaram Milk Dairy, 10 had tested Covid-19 positive, it said.

Many have returned to duty after getting cured, it said and added, an operator who tested coronavirus positive a month back died.

On May 31, Aavin said it had procured 37.24 lakh litres milk and on June 2 the procurement was 24.78 lakh litres. Aavin employees were striving to deliver milk packets to every home at 5 a.m daily, it said.

A farmer’s life is always busy, but when you add in looking after the family and a sideline business as an artificial breeding (AB) technician, with a run that is spread out over many kilometres, it can become a balancing act.
