In January-June 2015 not even a single kilogram / liter of Ukrainian dairy products were supplied to the territory of Russia.
Cheese producers suffered the most from the decrease in exports of dairy products. Exports of cheese from Ukraine dropped by more than 45% compared with the same period in 2014, most notably exports of hard cheese.
In the meanwhile, exports of dairy products to other countries increased during the same time period, supplies of milk powder grew most of all.
Growth in exports of fermented milk product happened mainly due to the fact that deliveries to the Crimea began to be considered as export operations in the statistics. The share of Crimea in the exports of dairy products reached almost 70% in the first six months of 2015.
Another interesting point is that, despite the increase in export shipments, there is reduction in monetary value, mainly due to decline of world prices for dairy products.
