Bhopal Dugdh Sangh, the largest supplier of milk and milk products in the city, revised prices of some of its products on Friday in the wake of 5% GST imposed on “packed and prelabeled” grocery, milk and milk products. But, prices of Sanchi milk packets have not been hiked for now.

With this, the supply of milk products, which was discontinued by the Dugdh Sangh for the last three days to work out a hike in their rates in the wake of 5% GST imposed on them, resumed on Friday morning. As per new rate list announced by in-charge marketing of Bhopal Dugdh Sangh, a packet of 500 ml plain butter milk, which earlier cost Rs 15 per packet will now cost Rs 16, 200 ml lassi would cost Rs 26 in place of Rs 25 and 200 gm plain curd would cost Rs 26 in place of Rs 25. Price of 500 gm plain curd has gone up by Rs 2 and would now cost Rs 52 in place of Rs 50. The 400 gm curd in a poly pack would cost Rs 32 in place of Rs 30.

The Tamil Nadu Cooperative Milk Producers’ Federation Ltd has fixed a procurement target of 6.93 lakh litres of milk per day to the Tiruchi District Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union, popularly known as Tiruchi Aavin.
