We have had to revise our milk production estimates from December 2019 onwards after a significant amendment to delivery volume data provided to us by a milk buyer.

The adjustment has added around 2m litres (0.2%) per month from January to May, 3m litres (0.3%) to June and 5m litres (0.5%) to July.

As a result of the amendment, GB milk production for 2019/20 is now put at 12,564m litres, 5m litres more than the previous total and 0.4% above the level recorded in 2018/19.

Production for April to August 2020 is now put at 5,365m litres, just 1.1% down on the same period last year.

With the updated numbers, we will assess our milk forecast for the remainder of the year and provide an update if appropriate.

We apologies for any inconvenience this amendment may have caused.
