Ponda: A total of 43 milk producing farmers have filed their nominations for the 12 seats of the new board of directors of the Goa State Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union, popularly known as Goa Dairy.

The state government has announced the election for the new board of directors of the Union that would be held on June 19.

Of the 15 member board of the dairy, only 12 members are elected, while the other three are government nominees.

Raju Magdum, a special auditor of Cooperative Societies who has been appointed as election officer, said that he has received a total 50 sets of nomination papers.

Monday was the last day to file their nomination forms.

The union consists of 173 members.
